6/19/2023 0 Comments Chief keef 3hunna clean version![]() This track actually sounds like it could’ve been cut from Meek’s debut album due to the heavy hitting bass and how Meek approaches the track. A standout track from the album is the ironically named ‘Before The Rollie’ (Ace Hood’s Rolex fell apart at the BET awards, for those who don’t know) which features Meek Mill but due to the similarity in flows between the two rappers it took me a few listens to realise who was rapping when. However, the track just feels empty.Almost as if the verses are ended too short which ruins a track which to start off with had a lot of potential. “Another Statistic” shows a good example of how Hood can rap with a point – discussing the death of Trayvon Martin and Martin Luther King in the track. ![]() The album starts off slow but builds up, the intro – which is a skit of a pastor in a church shouting the joys of jesus christ is drowned out by the thumping trap beat of the albums title track ‘Trials & Tribulations’, the track isn’t bad but recycled lyrical matter of coming from nothing to something doesn’t bring across anything groundbreaking to a genre which has at least 20 rappers a year rapping about a similar subject matter. I come into listening to this release having only heard Bugatti and Hustle Hard previously from Ace Hood so I expected a hype building loud hip hop album in the vein of Meek Mill or Waka Flocka Flame.
